About Uxbridge Lions Club
The Uxbridge and District Lions Club was chartered in April 1974 and is part of the world-wide Lions Clubs international. We are celebrating 50 years of service in our community in 2024.
Our club is made of dedicated men and women who meet regularly to spend time to work on projects that help members of our community, our region, our province, our country and around the world.
Our Lions Club serves the community of Uxbridge and is part of Lions Club International, dedicated to improving life quality globally through focuses such as diabetes, environment, hunger, vision, humanitarian, and disaster relief.
Funds raised from our events are given to various community organizations to support their activities and to help those with special needs and others who may be less fortunate than we are. We also collect pull tabs off of cans for which the aluminum they are made from goes towards a wheelchair for someone in need. We collect unused prescription glasses that go towards providing a optical mission in developing countries.
We are proud to have completed work on a Universal Accessible Playground in Elgin Park in collaboration with the Township of Uxbridge and through your donations and donations from other community service groups.
